Solar Power System
100% renewable energy powering innovation and sustainability.
Nearly 100% of the electrical energy used by our tenants is supplied by the sun through our state of the art solar system on the roofs of our four buildings. With over 2,300 solar panels total, we are able to produce an impressive 394,000 watts of peak (DC) power.
On hot summer afternoons, when California's electric grid is under maximum stress, the system is designed to generate enough electricity far in excess of the complex's requirements. This excess power can provide enough energy to power over 50 homes in the surrounding Menlo Park and Redwood City area.
The $3.6 million solar installation represents one of the largest multi-tenant commercial solar projects completed in the Bay Area and one of the biggest privately funded alternative energy generation projects in California.

Innovative Design & Integration
The solar system was installed as part of an extensive renovation and architectural facelift for the research and development complex. The design is attractively integrated into the architecture of our buildings and includes innovative use of solar panels on front facades to form multiple solar awnings.
This interesting feature enhances the building's appearance while providing substantial passive solar benefits, creating an aesthetically pleasing and highly functional renewable energy solution.
